Following the success of their January 24th forum, the Elementary School Building Committee is set to meet on Monday, February 2nd, with the objective of distilling all of the questions and comments from the forum.

Despite the snow, many townspeople showed up to the second ESBC public workshop. They heard more about the 11 preliminary sites for the Center School project, and got a chance to vote for their favorite and least favorite site options. Concerns were raised about the public safety ratings of the sites, particularly the low score given to the Elmwood site because of the gas line on the property. Others questioned how the impacts of traffic would affect this public safety rating. Overall, the ESBC heard a lot of valuable opinions from the people who attended the forum, and will take all comments into consideration.

The ESBC's second forum ran live on HCAM-TV, and will play back on HCAM-TV later in the week. Those who wish to submit their comments to the board can do so by emailing Joe Markey at jmarkey@hopkintonma.gov. The February 2nd meeting will also air LIVE on HCAM-ED. During the meeting, viewers will be able to submit comments to live@hcam.tv, and they will be addressed on the air.

The Elementary School Building Committee stresses that now is the time to submit comments and questions on the potential sites. One site will be chosen by town meeting, so input at this stage is crucial to the process.
