Events at the Library

The Hopkinton Public Library has some great programs coming up. Be sure to mark your calendars so as not to miss them and share this list with others.

Discovering New England Stone Walls - Tonight (Wed. 28th) night at 6:30, we are very fortunate to have Kevin Gardner, author of "The Granite Kiss, speak on how and why New England came to acquire its thousands of miles of stone walls, the ways in which they and their dry stone structures were built, how their styles emerged and changed, and their significance to our New England landscape. Kevin is leaving plenty of time for questions and he will be selling/signing books

Eighth Annual Holiday Family Program - Saturday, December 1 from 2:45 pm - 4:00 pm. Bring the whole family to celebrate the season in story and song. Story time with Mrs. “K”, and Enter Stage Left presents “A USO Holiday” featuring “Bob Hope, The Andrews Sisters, Abbott &Costello” and a Sing-a-long. Be sure to stroll up to the Common for the tree lighting after the Library program.

Hopkinton Chamber Orchestra Music - Wednesday, December 5 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. The Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library present an evening of Music performed by the Hopkinton Chamber Orchestra. It's a night to simply relax and enjoy the season. Light refreshments will be served!

Holiday Origami Program for ages 10 & up - Monday, December 10 from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Karen Beaver will demonstrate origami folding of intricate holiday designs. You will also participate by folding your own origami.

Library History Book Club - Thursday, December 13 from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. All are welcome to join the discussion. Read the short work, "Christmas Memories," by Truman Capote or "The house without a Christmas tree" or " A Christmas Story" by Jean Shepherd or any other Christmas story. Refreshments will be provided for this session. This is a lively group/discussion!

Sit and Knit - Thursday Dec. 13 & 27 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. These fun-filled & inspiring sessions are open to anyone who loves to chat, laugh, and /or share ideas. Participants are happy to help each other learn new/more things in the knitting/stitching realms. Feel free to just come and visit without working on a project (like me). Please use the back handicapped ramp door. Since the Library is closed, feel free to park in the back staff parking lot.
