The leaders of Faith Community Church decided to use money collected during Christmas Eve services to support World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children and families. $67,500 was collected to purchase materials and build 2,250 Ebola Caregiver Kits. These kits contain supplies for those who care for victims of Ebola.

As the Ebola outbreak continues to unfold, health care facilities have been overwhelmed by the number of people in need of care. This has forced many families to become caregivers to loved ones suffering from the disease. These courageous caregivers often lack even the most basic supplies to care for the sick, while keeping themselves safe from infection. The money Faith Community Church has raised will help equip them with the practical resources they need to bring dignity and comfort to those who are suffering while at the same time helping to prevent the spread of this deadly infection.
Each Ebola Caregiver Kit includes:

• Latex gloves
• Face mask
• Face shield
• Protective gown
• Soap
• Disinfectant
• Spray bottle
• Acetaminophen
• Oral rehydration salts
• Biohazard waste bag
• Information about disease control
• Handwritten note of encouragement

Faith Community Church will be sponsoring a Kit Build on Saturday, February 7, where members of the congregation will assemble the 2,250 Caregiver Kits and pack them in a shipping container. Once built they will be shipped to West Africa and distributed by World Vision.
