Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Foundation for MetroWest. The generous grant from the Arts & Culture Grant Program will help support the expansion of the HCA's mission with the addition of a development director, a position designed to address the organization’s philanthropic needs.

On January 1, 2020, Katie Broach of Marlborough, MA, a volunteer with the organization since fall 2019, joined the Hopkinton Center for the Arts as its first Director of Development, a role she has leapt into during what for most would be a difficult year. A performer herself, Broach brings an extensive fund development background to the organization with close to two decades of experience as a development professional, board member, and volunteer in the non-profit sector. Broach holds a Master’s Degree in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.

“Fundraising and cultivating a culture of philanthropy during a pandemic does not come without its challenges,” HCA Director Kelly Grill said. “Katie has met every challenge head on, leading the organization through every roadblock so that we continue to thrive during the most challenging of times. We are incredibly grateful to the Foundation for MetroWest for recognizing the needs of nonprofits in MetroWest and rising to support operational needs in such a strong way.”

Hopkinton Center for the Arts is a non-profit community arts organization that works to create a place for people of all ages and abilities to study, enjoy, and participate in the visual and performing arts under one roof. HCA annually offers over 200 classes to more than 2,000 students. In 2015, the HCA opened its expanded arts center, with newly renovated classrooms, a 200-seat performance space, and gallery spaces. HCA proudly presents over 50 productions and exhibitions a year to audiences from all over Massachusetts that showcases talented local and national artists.
