The Friends of Whitehall will hold its Annual Meeting on Tues. April 9th 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sanctuary at Woodville, 249 Wood St., Woodville. Please park at the Woodville Rod & Gun Club, located across the street from the Sanctuary. Refreshments will be served before and after the meeting. The Annual business meeting will be conducted, with a review of the past year’s accomplishments, overview of water quality testing results, and plans for 2019.

The meeting will also feature a presentation on the Hopkinton Springs Hotel, one of the first resorts in America, by Peter Regan, a member of the FOW Board of Directors. The Hopkinton Springs Hotel was built on Spring Street after a natural disaster, and from 1820 – 1859, drew thousands of guests from near and far to stay at the resort. The archaeological remains of the resort can still be seen from the trail on the south side of Lake Whitehall. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

The Friends of Whitehall’s annual membership appeal letter was sent out earlier this year to neighborhoods around the lake. Anyone who is interested in the lake is urged to join us at the meeting and consider membership. Come and learn how you can help in the conservation and preservation of Lake Whitehall and its surrounding areas.

Future Friends of Whitehall events include an educational seminar on deer ticks, April 27th at the Hopkinton Public Library, and the spring lake and trail cleanup, May 4th at the boat landing. Please visit our website for more information: www.friendsofwhitehall.org.
