Greyhound Friends is renovating their dog kennels to meet the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources. A message on the Greyhound Friends website explains the current situation: "Greyhound Friends Inc. is facing an unexpected challenge at our Hopkinton, Massachusetts Shelter. We are being required by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (DAR) to replace 15 year old kennels which house the dogs individually. We will also be installing new fencing and new paint." Greyhound Friends Director, Louise Coleman mentioned that local builder, Kevin Simard and H.D.F. painting are among a few local businesses that have been very helpful throughout the process.
