Artist Lynne Damianos will present the workshop Writing your First Book: Sharing Experiences.

A body of Lynne’s latest work, NatureScapes - Giclée Photographs
will be on display at the HCA (Barn Loft Gallery) between 11/16/2017 – 12/14/2017.

Thinking of writing your first book? Are you an experienced writer? Curious about the theme?
In this workshop, Lynne will show you how to get your book out there. She will explore the seven steps to creating a book: Writing, Professional Editing/Proofing, Design, Project Management, Printing, Publishing, and Marketing.

About Lynne Damianos: Lynne is the Project Manager and Owner of Damianos Publishing in Framingham, MA. She also is a self-employed photographer.

In sixth grade, Lynne and friend Kelly Pickering published their first project – a mimeographed newsletter called “The Viking Press” in Edgewood, their small neighborhood in Pittsburgh PA. Lynne moved on to become the editor and photographer of her award-winning high school yearbook, the Sylvan. After receiving her BS in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, she continued her editorial work for years as editor of the CIPNE Journal, a professional trade publication for the Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England.

Time moved on, and as Lynne pursued her other passion via Damianos Photography, she continued to be called upon as a resource for a variety of publications. She eventually published her first book, The Bancroft Building and Its People to document and celebrate the history and images of characters in her historic studio mill building. This project led to a request to publish a similar book with a more extensive history, The Saxonville Mills where she teamed up with historical researcher and author Kevin A. Swope and editor James L. Parr.

After learning the pitfalls to avoid and the details necessary to produce an engaging and quality book, Lynne realized she’d be a great resource for authors looking to publish their own book. With so many online resources out there (yet very few live human beings to speak with), Lynne knew how she could make a difference. She has aligned Damianos Publishing with in-house designer Lisa Breslow Thompson and a world-class book printer/distributor with over a century of experience to provide the ultimate in quality, services and competitive rates for her clients.
Lynne discusses her business in this short video produced by Radio Entrepreneurs.
