Town of Hopkinton seeks an Information Technology Director - Under the direction of the Town Manager, this position will provide strategic leadership and vision to the Town, and in collaboration with the School operations. The IT Director will lead and develop strategic, information-technologies planning for the Town/Schools; Provide direction to officials and departments in integrating and aligning technology with plan objectives; Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the IT Department and its operations to ensure effective support for organizational objectives and efficient and effective implementation of initiatives; Responsible for departmental hardware and application services to include the development of recommendations for all equipment purchases, hardware and software installation, training and technical support and Define and coordinate the standards, directions, and policies for Information Technology.

Qualifications:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, of which five (5) or more are at a management level.
Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field Preferred.
Public sector IT experience Preferred.
Thorough knowledge of contemporary information-technology; understanding of modern techniques of business-systems analysis and consultative skills. Considerable knowledge of strategic planning, systems and project management including insight into current IT trends, best practices, advancements, and their effective use. Knowledge of Cloud technologies, virtualization, mobile, VOIP, technologies, Windows Server & Workstation environment. Thorough knowledge of programming methods and techniques. Knowledge of enterprise-wide telecommunications.
Ability to understand business needs, plan and articulate a vision and strategy; Work off hours in order to attend evening meetings, respond to major system emergencies, and conduct planned system installation and upgrades; Establish and maintain effective communication, both written and oral, with all classes of employees, public officials, vendors, citizen groups and committees, and other stakeholders as required; Work effectively with policy-makers and managerial employees, including the assessment and resolution of problems and setting of priorities; Undertake full scope of operations of enterprise-wide or departmental mid-range or client-server systems; Manage complex budgets and prepare and review complex financial analysis; Facilitate teams and lead decision-making processes in a collaborative environment.
Hiring Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 annually depending on qualifications.

The Town of Hopkinton seeks a full-time Payroll Manager to provide professional, accounting, administrative and supervisory work managing the payroll function.

Under the direction of the Finance Director, the Payroll Manager will exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in the planning, administration, and execution of the department’s services, in the interpretation and application of laws, regulations, and procedures, and in the direction of personnel. This includes daily contact with staff, other Town departments, boards, government and agencies, as required.

The principal responsibilities for this position includes working supervision for the preparation of weekly, biweekly and monthly payroll; managing the payroll operations; ensuring the integrity of payroll accounting transactions to ensure all employees are paid timely and accurately; providing prompt resolution to discrepancies; monitoring and documenting departmental compliance with payroll laws and procedures; preparing and maintaining policies and procedures related to payroll; understanding, interpreting and administering contractual benefits; maintaining computer-generated spreadsheets to record wages, taxes, deductions, adjustments and correction for various payroll activities; interacting with Treasury, Human Resources, Middlesex Retirement and employees with regard to benefits and other miscellaneous requests regarding payroll-related matters; assisting with the implementation of a time-tracking and attendance system; and assisting with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field and three to five years of responsible experience in business or financial management with experience in municipal cash management; knowledge of Payroll, W-2’s, external audits, taxable fringe benefits and Human Resource Information System (HRIS) link to payroll; and relevant payroll experience including maintenance, preparation, balancing, internal controls and payroll taxes.

Ability to handle information in a sensitive, confidential and professional manner; ability to understand and apply procedures, regulations and policies related to areas of specialized expertise; ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be able to prepare ad hoc financial reports.

Knowledge of Munis Payroll, Municipal Finance Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and tax requirements Preferred.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

HIRING RANGE:
$65,667 – 80,678 Annually depending on qualifications.

Town of Hopkinton Senior Center Seeks a PT (12 - 19 hours) Van Driver

DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH THE SENIORS?

Under the general supervision of the department manager or assistant, the position performs van transportation services for senior citizens, assists with loading packages onto and off of vehicle, record keeping, general cleaning and reporting of vehicles maintenance requirements and attendance of mandated classes. Position performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications - Applicants must meet the following to be considered qualified for this position:
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license;
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds;
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with Massachusetts regulations;
HS Diploma or equivalent;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and provide exceptional customer service to the public;
CPR certification within six (6) months of hire;
Up to one year of applicable experience is Preferred.

Hiring Pay Range: $11.30 – $15.00 hourly depending on qualifications.
