HHS Principal Mike Cournoyer on Leave of Absence

According to an article posted on the MetroWest Daily News website this morning, Hopkinton High School Principal Mike Cournoyer is on leave of absence effective Thursday, September 19. In answer to an email inquiry by HCAM News, School Committee Chairman Nancy Burdick confirmed that Cournoyer is on leave and that Assistant Principal Evan Bishop is "filling in for the time being."

No further details are known at this time and no official statement from the Superintendent's Office has been released.

Cournoyer officially began his tenure as principal in Hopkinton on July 1, 2013. Cournoyer came to Hopkinton from Holliston where he was previously the Principal of Holliston High School. Prior to that he served as Assistant Principal of Hopkinton High School, and began his career in education as a high school health teacher at Southbridge High School. Cournoyer holds a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Worcester State College, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from the University of Lowell
