The Hiller Boys Cross Country Team took the Tri-Valley League Championship at Medfield on Tuesday. They placed first followed by Medfield and Norton. Evan Park came in 4th overall, Brian Gao 7th, Jack Cote 15, Sam Danaceau 16, Matt Pettepit 19, Jack McGuire 21st and Matt Heim 28th. "In the JV race, we had 6 out of the top 10 runners, too'" said Coach Jen Fairbanks, "It was a great day." It is the Hillers 3rd time in 4 years winning TVLs. This year the competition was different. In years past, they ran against each team in the regular season and the TVL race was more of a showcase race and a chance for all the teams to come together and race. This year, the division was split and they didn't race every team during the regular season. "We went undefeated 6-0 and Norton did as well." "We didn't race Norton in the regular season. From looking at their times on paper at the Twilight Invitational, we were pretty evenly matched. But, our boys really wanted this." Fairbanks was pleased to say, "Their heads were in it, the weather was perfect, and they were all healthy. You couldn't ask for more!" Hiller Boys Cross Country have an Invitational this Saturday at Wrentham followed by States on Nov 8th and hopefully All States on Nov 15th.
