The Varsity Golf team played really solid team golf today vs. a very good Dover Sherborn team today at Hopkinton Country Club. In a battle for first place in the TVL the Hillers played great and defeated D/S by a score of 234 – 258. The Hillers record is now 8 -1 and tied for first place in the TVL with Medfield. Hillers are scheduled to play Medfield on Wednesday, but that will be postponed due to the rainy weather all day tomorrow. Everyone on the team will enjoy a day off to take care of school work and family projects. Scoring and playing well for the Hillers today was Drew Simi – He had his low round of the year with an even par 36 and was the lowest scorer today for both teams. Kyle Fairbanks had to replace Connor Czerpuszko at the last minute because C.C. became ill and didn’t feel good. Kyle went out and shot a nice 39 from the #5 spot in the lineup!! Our three tri- Capt.’s all played well with Geoff Holler & Jake Doherty shooting 38’s and Matt Johnson shot 40. Abby Jaye and Jacob Southern both shot 43’s and Matt Locke finished up with a 44. Playing in front of the match as alternates today were Aidan Curry with a 45 – Nick Scire shot 43 along with Nate Mezitt’s 43. Nate Tuite bounced back today with a better score of 42 today and Kyle Schlicke had a nice 40. The Hillers will travel to Holliston on Thursday with 10 players.

Coach Bliss said, "It was nice that Athletic Director Eric Karjel attended our match today to see how our team was doing and to watch our kids play." "Asst. Principal Josh Hanna was also in attendance to watch our kids today in their big win." Bliss added "I received great news tonight that Jackie Schofield (class of 2012) who plays for Fairfield shot 76 and a 73 and won the ECAC’s Golf Tournament today. Jimmy Hervol is playing great for UCONN and is headed out to Nebraska to play in a big Div. 1 Golf Tournament. Great job former Hillers."

It was a tough day for Hillers on the road at Lost Brook to the Westwood team. The JV team lost 385-394 (we kept low 10 of the 13). The good news is we got to have 13 kids play, getting some of our younger players some needed match experience.
