A member of the Hopkinton Hillers Golf Team, Abby Jaye placed 4th of 56 competitors in the "MIAA State South Sectional Girls Golf Championship". Abby qualified for the state championship next week. Hopkinton Hillers Golf Head Coach, Dick Bliss sent out the following announcement;

"Hello Friends of Hiller Golf,

I am very happy, excited and so proud of our freshmen young lady , Abby Jaye , who shot a score of 80 today at the MIAA STATE SOUTH SECTIONAL GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIOSHIP today held at the Brookside Golf Cub in Bourne, Ma. Abby finished in 4th place out of the 56 girls who attempted to qualify today for the State Championship. The winning score today was a 73. This is the lowest score that Abby has scored in her very young tournament career. She played fantastic in her first attempt at this qualifying. She will now play in the FINALS of the MIAA GILRLS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP on next Tuesday, June 7th at the very beautiful Eastward Ho private golf course in Chatham down on the Cape once again. Abby was a member of our mixed gender VARSITY golf team this past fall that won the TRI Valley League Championship for the 3rd year in a row. She was the only girl on our 30 member golf team. Congrats to Abby and so happy to report this to her teammates, the HHS Athletic Dept. and all the friends and supporters of our Hiller Golf Program. Allison and Gary Jaye ( Abby’s very proud parents ) had the pleasure of following her around today at the Brookside Golf Club in Bourne. Looking forward to having the pleasure to watching Abby again next week in the State Finals!!

Coach Dick Bliss"
