Hillers Softball advances to Semi-Finals

On a beautiful Monday afternoon the Hopkinton Hillers Softball team beat Notre Dame Academy 4-2 and advanced to the Division 1 South Semi-Finals. Alissa Karjel had a solid start lasting 5.1 Innings giving up 2 Runs on 4 Hits. Karjel battled her way through and came out with the game tied at 2 in the 6th. Juliet Hulme took over, pitched a shutout 1.2 innings and ended up getting the win.

Bot 2nd - (HOP) Bri Mirabile hits a 2 RBI Double 2-1 HOP
Top 6th - (ND) Megan Barrett hits a solo shot which goes off of the glove of Hanna Engstrom and out of the ballpark 2-2 Tie.
Bot 6th - (HOP) Kate Welzel sacrifice flys to drive in Erica McBride (Maille Bennett Pinch Runner) 3-2 Hop
Bot 6th - (HOP) Kayla Sullivan Singles to drive in Juliet Hulme 4-2 Hop

The 1-2 punch of Karjel and Hulme have shown to be key for Hopkinton in the playoffs and the offense has come through keeping the pressure off the pitching tandem. Coach Baker has been very pleased with his teams overall effort in the playoffs and has faith that Karjel and Hulme could keep up with the best.
