Hillers Sports Update 10-15-2016

-Hopkinton Hillers Football improved to 2-3 on the season Friday as they took down Bellingham 45-14. Isaac Stilwell and Connor Hebert combined for 230+ yards rushing and scored 2 touchdowns a piece.

-Hillers Boys Soccer pulled off a huge win against Norton Friday 2-0 to improve to 5-7-1 on the season (11 points). Norton fell to 8-4-0 (16 points). The Hillers need 18 points to qualify for the post season.

-Norton Girls Soccer defeated the Hillers 4-3 in a back and forth matchup. Hilllers fall to 2-7-4 (8 points) while Norton is now 3-9-0 (6 points).

-Hillers Girls Volleyball improved to 12-1 as they recorded their 7th consecutive shutout (11th of the season) with 3-0 win over Bellingham.

Contributed Updates:

-The 8th grade field hockey team handily beat Wellesley 3-0 Friday. Goals from Leila Frederick, Alyssa Souza (assist Rachel Bachman) and Meghan Muldoon (assist -Alyssa Souza). The team continues to show their talent and sharp stick skills offensively and defensively with a record of 7-0-1. The net was tended by Alexa Kaplan and Amanda Kelley. Keep it up team!

-The girls’ soccer team lost to Mendon on Friday 3-1. After a slow start the girls pressed Mendon with Tiffany Mikulis leading the defensive push up the field. Lauren Murphy scored a goal to spur the team on to dominate the second half but the team just couldn't pull out the win. The girls play again today at home at 3:30 versus Millis.

-The Hiller boys' soccer team avenged its biggest loss of the season winning versus an undefeated Mendon soccer team 2-1 last Friday. Playing fantastic defensively were Ross Comcowich, Justin Wade and Wesley Gilpin. The goal scorers were Russell DeMarco and Jack Varner. Peter Burdulis saved a game tying bid by Mendon late in the game. Congratulations to the entire team for a game well played. The boys play today at 4:30 on field 5.
