The Medfield Warriors and Hopkinton Hillers kicked off on a very rainy Friday night at Hopkinton High School. The original 7pm kickoff was pushed up to 6pm to avoid some rain storms in the area but severe thunderstorms forced a stoppage in the 2nd quarter with 1:37 left.

Despite the heavy rain, both teams did not shy away from the pass although the rain led to drops and difficulty for both teams to gain momentum on offense. The game was suspended for one hour before it was decided to continue the game the following day (Saturday 10/22) at 4:30pm.

The game picked up from where it left off and continued on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon. Nothing happened for either team offensively in the final 1:37 left in the 2nd quarter and the game was scoreless at halftime. After a quick break, the game continued into the 3rd quarter. Medfield would strike on their 2nd drive of the half as QB Ryan Eamer found Liam O' Toole and completed a 52 yard touchdown reception. The Warriors added the extra point and took a 7-0 lead.

In the 4th quarter, James Voss, Ben Adams and Jake Dubbs racked up big receptions that led to 2 more Medfield Touchdowns. Mitchell Gonser and John Quinn both punched it across the goal line for a 1 yard touchdown runs in the Medfield victory. The Warriors defense held a shutout until the last 26 seconds of the game in which Jimmy Adams connected with Shane Cooney for the only Hillers touchdown of the game. Medfield threw for over 200 yards and produced over 260 yards of offense. The Hillers produced about 200 yards of offense and just over 100 via passing.

Medfield improved to 5-2 with the 21-8 win while the Hillers fell to 2-5.

Next Saturday (October 29th) Medfield will host Milton in the division 2A playoff bracket while Hopkinton will host Oliver Ames in non-playoff action Friday (October 28th) at 7pm.

- The playoff bound Hillers field Hockey team improved to 10-3-3 (23 points) with a 1-0 victory over Medfield. The Warriors fell to 6-7-3 (15 Points).

Hopkinton stands at 7-8-1 (15 points) and must earn at least 3 points in the final 2 games of their season to earn a playoff spot. The Hillers will need at least 1 win and 1 tie in the final 2 games as they will host Medway (Tues 10/25, Football Field, 7pm) and Westwood (Thurs 10/27, Field 13, 3:45pm) to close out the season.
