The Varsity Baseball team improved to 10-3 (10-3 TVL) with an 8-5 win at home over Bellingham on Monday, May 14. Both teams entered the game in a three-way tie with Medfield for the league lead at 9-3. With Medfield's 13-8 win over Holliston yesterday, the Hillers and Warriors currently share the top spot in the TVL with their 10-3 marks. Senior righty Jake Haroian (2-0) went the distance on the mound against the Blackhawks for Hopkinton, striking out six and scattering nine hits. Junior shortstop Ryan Sullivan led the offense, going 3-4 with two home runs and six RBIs, while Mike Decina, Connor Farrell, and Craig Levergood had two hits apiece.

Sullivan opened the scoring for the Hillers in the bottom of the first, plating Decina with a 2-run homer to give the Hillers a 2-0 lead. Bellingham cut the lead in half with a solo homer in the 3rd, but Hopkinton extended the lead to 4-1 in the 5th on Decina and Levergood's RBI singles. Leading 4-2 in the 6th, Sullivan put the game out of reach with a grand slam close out the scoring for the Hillers.

Hopkinton returns to action at home on Wednesday, May 16 when they take on Millis at 4:00 PM.
