The defending state champion #4 seeded Hopkinton Hillers Volleyball team swept #5th seeded Medfield at home to advance to the sectional semi-finals. The Hillers had control throughout the match and beat Medfield in 3 straight (25-8, 25-13, 25-22). Amanda Gilbert racked up 7 Kills, 13 digs and Annie Dumas had a big night with 8 Kills. Abbie Gilbert dominated from the corners with 10 kills overall. Jen Manning was unstoppable all night long with 18 digs and 5 aces. Rachel Zale did a nice job at setting up a number of scores as she totaled 20 assists. Brooke Parker also raised eyebrows with 9 digs.
The Hillers will take on Westborough in the sectional semis. #1 seeded Westborough swept #9 seeded Ashland at home in the quarterfinals. Westborough will host Hopkinton Thursday Night (November 12th) at 6:30pm.
