HMS Sports Updates 9-27-2016

Jesse Chambers scored a goal off an assist from Ethan Champlin as the HMS boys’ soccer team fell to defeat yesterday versus Milford. Patrick Crantz played very well in Goal. The boys next play at Millis on Thursday. Friday’s game has been rescheduled until October 19.

The Hopkinton Middle School cross country teams beat Medfield on Medfield’s hilly 2-mile course on September 26. Hopkinton’s girls won, 25-31, and the boys won, 24-31.

Jake Lacoche won the boys’ race, running down the early leader from Medfield over the second half of the race. Pierce Farrell, Colby Michaud, Jackson Schlussel, and Will Tedstone took the scoring spots. Matthew Burdulis, Cam Jerrett, Lucas Dionne, David Stedt, and Tyler Fallon ran tough races to secure spots in the Hillers’ top 10.

Kiki Fossbender won her second straight race. Ava Baumann, Gabi Ciri, Hayley Glassburn, and Mikayla Grady scored for the Hillers, with Cathryn Leighton and Tori Fischer right behind. Lauren Coccio ran a spectacular race to move up in the line up. Grace Joy and Catherine Kelleigh also cracked the team top 10.

Hopkinton will travel to Natick Kennedy Middle School on Thursday.
