The Hopkinton Center for the Arts has announced a call for artwork submissions for its annual juried art exhibit Arts in Bloom, which will show at the HCA Farmhouse April 28 – May 23, 2014. This year’s juror is Jane Young, director of the Chase Young Gallery in Boston, MA. Arts in Bloom is the HCA’s most prestigious annual art event, and a public reception will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 6:30 pm. In addition to selecting work for the show, the juror will also select artwork to receive finishing place designations and cash prizes.

Artists are invited to submit up to three pieces of artwork. All 2-D media can be accepted, and 3-D media can be accepted as long as it can be mounted and hung and not protrude more than 10 inches. The maximum height and width allowed 40” x 40” and all work must be wired for hanging. This year’s show will not be accepting giclee prints, copies, derivatives, or electronic reproductions, and no work using sawtooth hangers or sandwich frames will be accepted. There is a $10 entry fee for each piece.

Drop-off times for artwork submissions are Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11 from 4:00-6:00 pm, and Saturday, April 12 from 1:00-3:00 pm. Additional arrangements can be made by contacting Kris Waldman, HCA Artistic Director, at 508-435-9222. For additional submission guidelines, click here.
