Hopkinton Fire Invites Public to Station Open House

By contributor,

The Hopkinton Fire Department will open their station to the public on October 5th for their Annual Open House. The event at Fire Headquarters will be from 11am to 2pm. Residents and children will have the opportunity to view demonstrations, learn about fire safety, and tour the station. Refreshments will be provided and Sparky the dog is expected to make an appearance.

The Open House provides an opportunity for firefighters to focus on the educational theme of Fire Prevention week. This year’s theme is “Help us sound the alarm that working smoke alarms save lives”. Did you know that many people don’t test their smoke alarms as often as they should? When there is a fire, smoke spreads fast. You need working smoke alarms to give you time to get out. Test yours every month!
