Hopkinton Garden Club Brings Holiday Cheer!

November and December have been busy months for our club! With the cold weather fast approaching, we have turned our efforts to helping make Hopkinton a festive place for the holidays. You’ll see greens, lights, and wreaths on the Veterans Memorial Gazebo, the town library, the Ice House, the Doughboy statue, and the Historical Society. Holiday centerpieces were also created for the Veteran’s breakfast held at the Senior Center on December 5th.

We were also honored to return again to the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA to decorate the Howe Sitting Room for the Christmas season. Since 2005, our club has been invited to work together with other garden clubs in the MetroWest area to decorate the entire Inn for Christmas. The Wayside Inn is the oldest continually operating Inn in the United States, attracting thousands of patrons during Christmastime to view the enchanting décor.

In November, we held a workshop at the Senior Center to create fall arrangements, and were happy to present Project Just Because with sixteen decorated Christmas wreaths to distribute with their Thanksgiving meals. We were also very thankful for the countless dedicated volunteers and businesses who helped us plant 10,000 daffodil bulbs in support of Boston Strong’s Marathon Daffodil Project.

We’re looking forward to cheerful daffodil blooms in April, 2014 to spread the message of our community support to all our runners.

We’re excited about continuing our work in our community in 2014. We would love to have you come join us!
