“Flowering Trees and Shrubs for the Home Landscape” With Suzanne Mahler Wednesday, January 18, 2017 7:30 p.m.

Woody plants form the backbone of our landscapes. Explore the beauty of flowering trees and shrubs with a look beyond the fleeting flowers to varieties that provide attractive forms, colorful foliage, textural bark, and fruits for interest in more than one season. Discover new treasures to enhance your backyard retreats.

Suzanne grows extensive collections of perennials including more than 650 daylily cultivars and 250 varieties of hosta. She has been a garden lecturer for 30 years having spoken at the Boston, Rhode Island, and New England Spring Flower Shows, Art in Bloom at the Museum of Fine Arts, the Environmental Protection Agency, and garden clubs and organizations throughout the New England area. Suzanne is also the past President of the New England Daylily Society, an Overseer for the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, a member of the Walnut Hill Garden Club in Hanover, MA and works part-time at Wyman Garden Center in Hanson, MA

Mahler Gardens was formerly designated as a National Display Garden for the American Daylily Society and remains open to the public, dawn to dusk, during the month of July.
