Hopkinton Hillers Playoff Update 6/10/16

6/10/16 - The #7th seeded King Philip Warriors out of the Hockomock League took down the #6th seeded Hopkinton Hillers Softball team 4-0 in the South D1 Semi-Finals at Taunton High School. King Philip Senior, Kali Magane pitched the complete game shutout and struck out 9 Hillers while only giving up 4 hits.

The Warriors scored 3 runs in the top of the 2nd after they loaded the bases. Jennifer Hutnyan and Kali Magane started off the inning with singles, Ashley Hession drew the walk and then Meghan Gorman and Christa Wagner had RBI singles followed by a Hailey McCasland RBI sacrifice groundout. The Warriors added security in the 7th as Elise Pereira had a sacrifice fly-out to drive in Meghan Gorman.

The Hopkinton Hillers finish a great season under 1st year Head Coach, Kiely Murray at 19 and 4 overall. King Phillip (21-4) advances to play undefeated 23-0 Silver Lake in the Finals, Saturday June 11th at 7pm at Taunton High School.

6/10/16 - Another Hockomock team also broke the Hillers hearts today. #4th seeded, Foxborough Girls tennis took down the #2nd seeded Hopkinton Hillers 3-2 in the Girls South D2 Finals. Foxborough improved to 18-2 while Hopkinton fell to 19-3. Foxborough advances to the final 4, while the Hillers end a great season under 1st year Head Coach, Christine Lyons.
