Hopkinton Hillers Sports Update 10-22-2018

-Hopkinton Hillers Football has qualified for the MIAA HS football playoffs and earned the 3rd seed in the South Division 4 bracket. The Hillers finished regular season play 4 and 3 after they defeated Westwood 20-0 this past Friday. In the quarterfinals (1st round), the Hillers will host 6th seeded 4 and 3 Nauset. The game will take place at David M. Hughes Stadium (Friday October 26th) at 7pm.

The Hillers won the D4 Sectionals last season and lost in the State Semi-Finals to North Champion, Melrose.

-This past Friday (10/19), Hillers Volleyball improved to 15 and 1 overall with a 3-2 road win over Frontier Regional. The Hillers took sets 2, 3 and 5 in the victory. Jenna Willwerth (SR) played a huge part in the win with 11 Kills. Morgan Allen (JR) contributed 18 digs and the Hillers as a team netted 7 aces overall. The Hillers will play the final week of the regular season this week. On Wednesday, Hopkinton is on the road @ Norwood and Friday @ Holliston.

-8th grade field hockey hosted Needham Friday with a 1-1 result. The goal came from Emma DeMichele with an assist from Maya Ghosh. The Hillers pressed offensively the entire game and a strong solid defense kept Needham at bay. Come support the team in their final home game on Tuesday!

-The HMS boys' soccer team won its sixth consecutive game pushing their record to 6-0-1. Early in the first half the team was down 2-0 and bounced back scoring four goals leading into halftime. Goal scorers included Sam Vasington, Sean Golembiewski, Dylan Michaud and Peter DeMichele. The boys travel to Ashland this afternoon. (10/16)

-8th grade field hockey lost a tough one at Natick Monday 1-0. Kudos to all of you for battling hard despite many challenges. Come support the team in their final game at home today - 3:45 start!
