Hopkinton Library Holds Pickup Starting 3/19

The library is making a limited holds pickup service available to Hopkinton residents beginning Thursday, March 19.

Pickups will be by appointment only, and limited to 5 items per pickup. To request materials and make an appointment, you must call the library between 10 am and 4 pm, Monday through Saturday, and speak directly with a staff member. The library's phone number is 508-497-9777. We cannot honor hold pickup requests left on voicemail or submitted by e-mail at this time - please call us between the stated hours.

We can currently only provide items that are currently on the shelf in our library. We cannot request items from other libraries or place holds on items that are checked out. Due to quarantine procedures, some items that appear to be available in our catalog may not actually be available for holds pickup. If your requested items cannot be located, staff will try to provide something similar for you.

When you call the library, you will be asked to choose a pickup time slot on a specific day. Time slots are available in increments of two hours between 10 and 4, for a limited number of people per two-hour period. Your items will be left out for you in the library's Main Street atrium during your designated time slot. In order to maintain social distancing, if another person is in the atrium when you arrive, you must wait for the other person to leave before you can enter and retrieve your materials.

Please note: When you are picking up items, do NOT leave returned materials in the atrium. If you are bringing items to return to the library, please put them in the book drop at the Church Street entrance. This will help us maintain effective quarantine procedures on returned items.

This is a pilot service, and we may modify it as conditions change. For full information, see bit.ly/HPLholds-pickup20. This document will be kept up to date if we make any changes in how holds pickup works.

Thank you.
