Library Grand Opening October 16!

The Hopkinton Public Library Trustees and staff are excited to announce the library's Grand Opening at 13 Main Street! Please join us at 11 am on Monday, October 16 for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

After the ribbon cutting, Library Trustees will lead tours of the building from 11:30 am-2 pm and from 5-7 pm.

Refreshments will be available, courtesy of Snappy Dogs and the Library Trustees.

The Children's and Young Adult librarians will offer fun drop-in activities to welcome kids and teens to the library.

Our historic grandfather clock has been restored thanks to the Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library. The Friends will present a talk on the historic clock by restorer Hunter Kissam at 12:30 pm, followed by the restarting of the clock.

The library will be beautifully decorated for its reopening thanks to the Garden Club and the Friends of the Library, who are sponsoring "Books in Bloom" flower arrangements throughout the building.

We will offer more tours of the library on Saturday, October 21, as well as on some other weekdays depending on volunteer availability.

Our opening celebrations will conclude with the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation's capstone fundraising event, "A Novel Affair", at 7:30 pm on Saturday, October 28. Tickets for "A Novel Affair" may be purchased by clicking here.

Library services will resume immediately following the opening ceremonies. Come in to explore the new space, but also feel free to check out a book or movie, use our public computers, or ask library staff for help signing up for a card, finding something great to read or watch, or getting information you've been looking for. We will be offering a full slate of library events starting in November; watch this space, our website, and our social media for more information.

Most library materials should be due on October 18. Until we open, you may renew your items online or by contacting another C/W MARS library. After we reopen, staff will forgive fines for items that were overdue because of our closure.

This is a very exciting time for the entire community and library staff. We look forward to welcoming you into the new library!
