According to Boston Magazine, finding the best place to live is all about your stage in life and your lifestyle. Are you just starting out, looking to downsize or ready to trade-up? If you’re ready to trade-up, the magazine lists Hopkinton as one the “best places” to live.

“With prosperous neighborhoods, good schools and half-century old grocery and drugstores, Hopkinton is indeed a Rockwellian throw-back that seems farther removed from the city life than the 26 miles that separate the town, the start of the marathon, from Boston.”

The median home price is listed as $519,500, up six percent from last year, but the magazine suggests that newcomers should be looking in neighborhoods like Blueberry Lane, where a fully loaded house, four-plus bedrooms, three-plus baths on an acre lot, now goes for around $700,000.

Other towns listed as “best places” for trading up included Sudbury, Marblehead, Milton and Hingham.
