Danielle Keane, Vipul Minocha and Jim Montalto will run the 2015 Boston Marathon to raise money for the restoration, renovation and expansion of Hopkinton Public Library.

Danielle Keane, a former teacher in the Hopkinton Public Schools, is running the 2015 Boston Marathon for the Library because, she says, “[t]he library’s expansion will mean more space for the community to come together for programs, will provide a safe spot for local children to meet and learn, and will make cutting edge technology available to everyone.” Introduced to the Boston marathon by her husband and Hopkinton’s varsity basketball coach Tom Keane, Danielle ran her first Boston in 2013, then ran to raise money for a number of charities in 2014, and is excited to be returning to the starting line for her third consecutive year.

2015 will be Vipul Minocha’s second Boston Marathon. Vipul, a resident of Hopkinton, explains that he is running this year to raise money for the Library because “libraries provide more than books – a library is a centerpiece for the community. As the world is getting more digital, it is very important that our libraries keep pace with technology innovations, while at the same time continue to be centers of education for the community.”

Jim Montalto, embarking on his first Boston Marathon, has been taking advantage of all the Library has to offer since moving here with his family 8 years ago. “The staff is terrific and the library is a wonderful place to be. As great as it is, the building’s size and age limit what it can provide,” he says. “Own town deserves a better place where anyone of any age can meet, learn and explore. I’m happy for the opportunity to help Hopkinton work toward improving such a vital resource to our town’s population and its generations to come.”
