Under the direction of the Town Manager or designee and in accordance with state statutes and town
bylaws, the Senior Accounting Manager/Town Accountant is responsible for planning, controlling and
directing professional accounting, auditing and reporting work for various Town departments in
compliance with Massachusetts General Laws, the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and Bylaws of
the Town of Hopkinton.

Please be advised that workers will be filling the new elementary school fire tank starting at 8 AM. This potentially could stir up the water in the mains and cause some discoloration. We ask you to please check your water before using it and if you do notice discoloration, let your cold water faucet run to clear the line.

eHop to Hold Public Forum on Town Growth and Development

Monday, February 12, 2018 – eHop will hold a public forum on Town Growth and Development on Thursday, March 8 at 7 pm at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. The forum will provide a unique opportunity for residents and town leaders to listen and learn from each other in an open exchange of information and ideas. Much of the evening will be dedicated to Q&A beginning with a brief overview of recent and projected population growth, the impact on services, and information about how residents can engage in related discussions and decisions.

-The Hopkinton Hillers Alpine Ski Team sent 6 athletes to the state championship which will take place March 6th. The Hillers ski team has 20 athletes in total, 18 boys, 2 girls. The Boys finished 5 place overall out of 12 teams. The Top 20 Girls and Top 24 Boys in the league qualified for the state finals. Representatives in the finals from the Hillers include both the Girl members of the team Allison Marr (Ranked 4th), Cate Barry (Ranked 6th) for the boys. Max Rodgers (Ranked 13th), Jordan Hanna (20th), Jackson Schlussel (23rd) and Kyle Perkins (24th).

Help them reach their goal of $30,000 for temporary housing for families of children being treated for congenital heart disease at Boston hospitals. Community Notice: Eversource has hired Stanley Tree to Remove Trees Interfering with Power Lines

Eversource has hired Stanley Tree to remove trees in Hopkinton that interfere with their power lines. That will occur from February 19 through March 9, 2018.

Additionally, Stanley Tree will be cutting trees on private property for which the property owner granted permission and they will be cutting trees on Town property for which the Tree Warden granted permission. The work zone includes Ash Street, North Mill Street, South Mill Street, Cross Street, and Front Street.

DCR Announces Family-Friendly School Vacation Programming

BOSTON — The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) today announced a wide array of family-friendly programs that will be offered by the agency throughout the Massachusetts state parks system during next week’s traditional school vacation week. Some of the many school vacation programs offered by DCR include guided hikes, wildlife observation opportunities, crafting activities, history lessons, games, stories, and more; a full list of activities and programming can be found on DCR’ website.

While some questions about which teams will qualify for the MIAA tournament and what seeds they will get remain unresolved, champions of the TVL Large and TVL Small divisions will be celebrated before we fall asleep Friday night.

Senate Passes Bill to Protect Access to Confidential Health Care

BOSTON, MA – Today the Massachusetts State Senate passed legislation to protect patients’ access to confidential health care. In an effort to maintain the confidentiality of patients covered as dependents on another person’s insurance policy, the “PATCH Act” requires insurance carriers to issue common summary of payment forms directly to the patient.
