The event attracted hundreds of people from all over the Northeast and once again raised great funding towards the battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Boston, MA – Hundreds of protestors marched on Beacon Hill yesterday demanding wage theft legislation to be passed before the end of the session. Today, the Massachusetts Senate unanimously passed S.2546, a bill tailored to curb the epidemic of wage theft occurring across the Commonwealth.

HPLF Delivers $443,956.00 to Town at Selectmen’s Meeting

At the June 19, 2018 Board of Selectmen meeting, Hopkinton Public Library Foundation, Inc. (HPLF) delivered the first installment of its $1 million contribution from its fundraising campaign. HPLF Board members Laura Barry and Scott Richardson delivered a check payable to the Town of Hopkinton in the amount of $443,956.00. This amount represents the Town’s FY2019 debt service for the Library building project.

Seventh Annual Touch-A-Truck and Food Truck Festival Raises Nearly $20,000

On Thursday (June 14th) Elmwood Elementary hosted their 1st ever International Night. The event included performances, dances and food tasting from several different cultures. The event took place in two parts with an hour featuring the 2nd grade class and an hour for the 3rd grade class. View the video below.

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton June 10th through June 17th was 92 degrees, the lowest was 47.5 degrees. Average temperature during the month in Hopkinton was 65.4 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 65.5%, the peak was 97% while the lowest was 26%. Wind Speed averaged 2.5 MPH, while reaching a high of 12 MPH. Rain accumulated 0.03 inches last week in Hopkinton. ParadiseMoves brings contemporary fusion dance and original music to the stage in it's junior production of Enough at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. Enough Jr. explores topics surrounding mental health, sexuality, identity, personal growth, therapy and the power of the love and support of friends and family.

The first act's powerful performance is followed by a facilitated discussion that connects audience members with each other (Act II).

Hopkinton Planning Board Vacancy Announcement

The Planning Board currently has one vacancy and the Town is seeking candidates for the position. The term of office will expire at the May, 2019 election. The Planning Board is an elected board, whose members serve five year terms. The establishment of municipal Planning Boards is authorized by Mass. General Law, Chapter 41, Section 81A. Marathon School Playgrounds Closed for Safety

Dear Hopkinton Community,

Please be advised that the playgrounds and parking lot at Marathon Elementary will be closed until mid-July to ensure children’s safety while we continue to receive furniture deliveries, complete punch list tasks, and transport truckloads of materials from Center School as well as from the Integrated Preschool housed at Elmwood. Essentially, the Marathon site remains very active; therefore, the playgrounds must be closed to the public.
