Hopkinton Schools and Safety Ranks Among Highest in the Country

Safewise.com analyzes all FBI crime statistics from all 50 states to find which communities are the safest. The 2 main statistics are violent crimes per every 1,000 residents and property crimes per every 1,000 residents. This years safewise rankings rated Hopkinton as the 8th safest community in the country. Last year in this poll Hopkinton was ranked 70th safest in the country. According to the ranking, Hopkinton's population is at 16,209 and violent crimes are nearly nonexistent ranking at 0.06 (otherwise meaning about 1 violent crime for every 2,000 residents occurs) while property crimes ranked at 2.65 per 1,000 residents. Hopkinton High School also ranked very high in a recent survey. U.S. News.com ranked Hopkinton High School 5th best in the state and 163rd best in the country. Two of the main categories for the study was Student-Teacher Ratio and college readiness. Hopkinton has a student-teacher ratio of 14 students per every teacher and rankled a 74.0 in college readiness. The college readiness statistic was based on 12th graders who passed AP exams (AP=Advanced Placement) It was estimated that 82% of Hopkinton High School students took the AP exam and 71% of the students who took the exam passed.
