Dear Veterans and Friends:

Hopkinton veterans will gather for breakfast on 1 March 2019, at 0900 hours, at the Senior Center to enjoy hot chow, and warm camaraderie.

Our comrades who passed away during February will be remembered, and the condition of those who are on "Sick Call" will be updated. It is encouraging that several veterans are generous with their time, and visit and/or send cards to our ailing buddies. More of us should do this. Keep up the good work!

A few comments after breakfast will recall memories of military events that previously occurred on March 1st; for example, in 1944, German aircraft dropped 6 bombs over Vatican City, littering the Court of Saint Damasco with debris.

Other announcements will keep you abreast of Hopkinton happenings relating to veterans.

A free breakfast and lunch will be awarded to the first person who correctly answers the monthly baseball quiz: Who was the last Red Sox player to have played in all 162 games (Normar Garciaparra, or Dustin Pedroia, or Dwight Evans)?

Hopkinton veterans with transportation difficulties should call Amy Beck on/before 27 February 2019, 508 497-9730. Please encourage other Hopkinton Vets to attend the breakfast.

American Legion McDonough-Carlberg Post 202 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and bless the meal.

See you Friday. Out.

If the enemy are in range, so are you.
