Hopkinton Girls Volleyball ranked 8th in the state heading to the playoffs, had a tremendous season and is set to play in the state Semi-Finals Wednesday November 12th 7:00pm against Notre Dame (Hingham) at Canton High School.

The 20 and 2 Hopkinton Hillers have not lost a match since September 22nd at Frontier Regional. The Hillers have swept the entire match in 19 of their 20 victories and are currently on a 15 game winning streak. The Hillers heavily surpass the National Average in many statistical categories including Kills Per Set (11.4), Hitting Percentage (.300), Serving Aces (229) and Aces per Set (3.4).

Four players have paved the way for Hillers success with their ability to rack up the Ace's from the serve line; Hanna Engstrom (40), Renee Cooprider (31), Holly Adams (31), Whitney Thalheimer (31). The Hillers also have 5 players with above 100 points this season. Whitney Thalheimer (163), Holly Adams (146), Hanna Engstrom (121), Jess Rector (117), and Renee Cooprider (116).

The Hillers wide array of offensive weapons and defensive abilities have led to one of the most successful seasons in school history. The Hillers continued their dominate performance into the post season, sweeping 13 and 5 Tantasqua in the Quarter Final, Sweeping 18 and 1 Canton on the road in the Semi Final and beating 14 and 4 Westborough in the neutral sited Central Division 2 championship 3 sets to 1.

Notre Dame Academy should be quite a challenge for the Hillers. The Cougars of Notre Dame are ranked #1 in the state by Max Preps. The Cougars stats are very close to the overall stats of the Hillers; Kills Per Set (10.7), Hitting Percentage (.307), Serving Aces (230) and Aces per Set (3.8).
