The Hopkinton PTA is pleased to announce its 29th annual Online Auction. On March 9, bidding will open at www.biddingforgood.com/hopkinton. Bidding will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 21. Potential bidders may preview items beginning March 1st.

The Annual Auction is the HPTA’s most significant annual fundraiser – raising nearly $40,000 for the schools last year. The auction, hosted on the Bidding for Good site, will feature hundreds of items, including electronics, jewelry, restaurant certificates, wine & beer packages, family fun activities, travel packages and other unique experiences. The estimated value of the online auction items ranges from $25 to $2,000.

According to HPTA Fundraising Chairperson, Jane Wojcik, “Last year, over 4,200 bids were placed during our online auction which featured more than 500 items. There is really something for everyone – and it’s a great way to support our schools.”

These events and other fundraisers have allowed the HPTA to budget over $2 million for the Hopkinton Public Schools since it’s inception in 1993. The proceeds of the events go directly to the schools and are used for programs such as student enrichment, scholarships, communication, technology enhancement, and professional development programs. More information about the HPTA’s many programs is available on the HPTA website.

“We have a wide array of online items available this year,” said Beth D’Alleva, HPTA President. “We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors and donors who make this all possible.”

Another key to the success of the event is the neighborhood donations. Neighborhoods across town pool their resources to purchase an item or themed package for the auction.

“In past years, neighborhoods or individual families have donated use of a vacation home, electronic items and wine & spirits packages. These have traditionally been some of the most popular items. It’s a great way for neighbors to team up for a great cause,” D’Alleva said.

The HPTA is accepting donations for bid and sponsors through March 9. Please contact Donations Chairperson, Karen Thayer Bograd, at 508.435.1026 or silentauction@hptaonline.com for information.
