The Town of Hopkinton seeks a full-time Conservation Administrator to serve as principal staff and advisor
to the Conservation Commission as well as administer conservation land acquisition and wetlands
protection, manage conservation lands and participate in townwide natural resource planning efforts.

The Conservation Administrator conducts environmental reviews, and provides guidance for selected
projects to town boards and officials. Work is professional and technical, developing strategies and
programs to provide for the Town’s natural resources and open space needs, and environmental
permitting; the employee must work with tact and discretion when working in a collaborative and highly
public-process work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree and three to five years of experience in conservation and wetland science; or any
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
● Knowledge of federal, state and municipal wetland permitting and protection laws; conservation
practices and environmental sciences.
● Ability to read and interpret engineered and surveyed plans, GIS, FEMA, FIRM and USGS
topographic plans.
● Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences including
public officials and the general public.
● Ability to handle multiple tasks, determine priorities and meet deadlines important as well as
maintain accurate and detailed records.
● Proficient computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet browser and
financial software.

Hiring Salary: $69,472 - $83,366.40 Annually, depending on qualifications

40 hour work week: Mon, Wed., Thurs.; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
