The Town of Hopkinton (est. population 18,000) with an $87 million budget seeks qualified candidates
for the full-time position of Executive Assistant to the Town Manager’s Office.

Hiring Salary Range: $25.32 - $30.39 per hour; full range up to $35.45 per hour
40 hour work week: Mon, Wed, Thurs 8 am to 4:30 pm; Tues 8 am to 7 pm; Fri 8 am to 2 pm

The Executive Assistant works in a very fast-paced and public environment and requires handling the
more difficult customer service requests. The role involves professional, technical and administrative
work supporting the Town Manager’s Office, requiring the highest and utmost level of confidentiality,
poise, tact and discretion. There is substantial and daily interaction significant to the operation of a
high-profile public agency with public officials, the general public, colleagues, town department heads
and boards, government agencies, vendors and the business community.

QUALIFICATIONS - Applicants must meet the following to be considered qualified for this position:
Education, Training and Experience
Associate’s Degree in Office Administration or related field and 3 - 5 years of experience in a fast-paced
office environment or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of: public administration policies and practices; state and local regulations affecting the
Department.
Ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences including public officials
and the general public; handle multiple tasks, determine priorities and meet deadlines in fast paced
office environment; maintain accurate and detailed records; maintain knowledge and skill in utilizing
software programs; recognize Department priorities and work cooperatively and collaboratively to
support their accomplishment.
Skill: organizational, writing, interpersonal/collaborative communication, resourcefulness and
discretion; computer skills that encompass effective use of Munis, word processing, spreadsheet,
accounting, project management, presentation, email and internet browser software.
