The Town of Hopkinton seeks an Evening, Full-time Custodian

Hours are generally 7:00 pm - 3:30 am

Schedule to be finalized with successful candidate.

Salary: Depending on qualifications.

Under the direct supervision of the Town Engineer/Facilities Director, the Custodian will perform routine building and grounds maintenance and general custodian activities for town buildings and perform minor semi-skilled building repairs. The individual is an Emergency Contact and First Responder to building security alarms and for building fire alarms in the absence of another Facilities Team Member.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training and Experience

High School diploma and two years’ experience performing building custodial and maintenance in a business setting or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of: Equipment, materials and procedures used in building custodial services and building and grounds maintenance.

Ability to: Prioritize and complete multiple tasks at one time with frequent interruptions, identify needs for repairs; operate and service light power equipment; follow written or verbal instructions. Heavy physical effort required; may be required to move/transport up to 100 pounds, work in high precarious places, climb or balance and walk on uneven terrain. Position requires the ability to operate a computer and keyboard, smartphone and general office equipment as well as hand and power tools.

Skill: Organizational, interpersonal/collaborative communication, resourcefulness and discretion; computer skills that encompass effective use of word processing, email, and internet browser. Skill in the use of custodial and maintenance power and hand tools.

Required Licensing/Certification: A valid U.S. Driver’s License with a good driving record & reliable transportation.
