The Town of Hopkinton seeks a Treasurer/Collector for its Finance Department:
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Treasurer/Collector is a key
financial-team member and contributor to proper financial management requiring a high-level
of initiative and independent judgment in the planning, administration and execution of the
department’s services and in the direction of staff. The incumbent maintains oversight of a
range of municipal financial functions including but not limited to tax collections, tax and utility
billing, tax title, treasury management, local revenue collections, cash management, investment
of funds, management of debt service and payable disbursement.
QUALIFICATIONS - Applicants must meet the following to be considered qualified for this
position:
● Equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration or a
related field and Five to seven (5 - 7) years of responsible experience in financial
management including experience in the operation or audit of cash management
protocols and cash or investment management reporting. Advanced Degree preferred.
● Ability to become bonded.
● Successful supervisory experience preferred.
● Professional License or Certification such as Certified Public Accountant, Certified
Internal Auditor, or Massachusetts Treasurer Collector's Association certification
preferred.
● Specific knowledge or experience in Massachusetts municipal financial management
o Expertise in the MUNIS municipal accounting software suite preferred.

Required Licensing/Certification: Timely certification as Treasurer/Collector by the Massachu-
setts Collector Treasurers’ Association is required after appointment.

Hiring Salary Range: $75,732 - $90,875; Full Range to $106,017
