John Healy Duffy Jr. died peacefully surrounded by his parents and family on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Bethany Healthcare, Framingham MA. Born March 6, 1955 to parents Dr. John Healy Duffy Sr. and Mary Jo (Brennan) Duffy, John grew up in Hopkinton, MA as one of 12 children.

He attended St. Tarcisius School and Marian High School in Framingham, and graduated from Nichols College in Dudley MA with a degree in accounting. After graduating from college, John lived for many years in the New Haven, CT area where he worked as an accountant for several firms, most notably the Legionaries of Christ.

John was a long-time active member of St. Mary’s parish in New Haven. A devout Catholic, he touched many souls with his vibrant faith and holiness, his humility, his genuine interest in the well-being of every person he met, and his ever-present sense of humor, even in times of great difficulty. John was often sought out by others for his wise counsel. He loved to read and play tennis, and often went hiking with friends in the New Haven area.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his brothers and sisters, Christine Cloutier and her husband Gaston of Natick, MA, Thomas and his wife Nataline of Randolph, NJ, Michael and his wife Pamela of Hopkinton, MA, Mary Corkery and her husband John of Mansfield, MA, Robert and his wife Sharon of East Greenwich, RI, Peter and his wife Diane of Merrimack, NH, James and his wife Patricia of Shirley, MA, Richard and his wife Doreen of Cumberland, RI, Letitia Bottino and her husband James of Wareham, MA, and Kathleen Nash and her husband Daniel of Holliston, MA. John is predeceased by his brother James, who died as an infant.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 5 Hillhouse, Ave., New Haven, CT. Committal will be Saturday, November 3 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River, MA. Calling hours at the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home, 34 Church St., Hopkinton, MA are Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
