Over 500 children and their families attended Hopkinton Public Library Foundation’s Third Annual Touch-A-Truck on Sunday, June 8, 2014. The event, held at Hopkinton High School, raised over $4,000 for the renovation and expansion of Hopkinton Public Library. Children could see and climb on trucks, construction and emergency vehicles from American Climbers, Gentle Giant Moving Company, Greenwood Landscaping, Holliston Oil Service, the Hopkinton Police Department, McIntyre Loam, Inc., Norton & Haines Transportation, Scott’s Landscaping, Inc., and Scott Septic, Inc. Children and their families also could ride the Roaming Railroad from Suffield, CT, or win a Power Wheels Mercedes ML63. The Power Wheels was won by three-year-old Johnny Boccia!

Hallmark Sotheby’s International Realty and Kumon of Hopkinton sponsored the event, while Roaming Railroad will contribute a portion of its proceeds from the day. Kona Shaved Ice (Cumberland, Rhode Island), Cool Cow Ice Cream (Lynnfield), Snappy Dogs (Hopkinton), Tailgaters Wood Grill (Marlborough), and LeafFilter, Inc., added to the festivities as vendors.

Hopkinton Public Library Foundation wishes to thank all those who made Touch-A-Truck a huge success by donating their time and vehicles, as well as all the families who attended Touch-A-Truck. All proceeds from this event help to defray the cost of the Hopkinton Public Library building project for which Hopkinton voters approved funding at the May 5 Town Meeting and May 19 Town Election.
