Sean Davan, owner of Woodville Maples of Hopkinton, will be coming to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on March 1 to share his experience and passion for making maple syrup. The talk, which begins at 4:00 p.m., will review the history of maple syrup, how it is made, and provide techniques to help people try their own backyard sugaring. All are welcome to attend this free event. St. Paul’s is located at 61 Wood Street/Rte. 135, Hopkinton

“In the late winter sweet sap begins to flow in the region’s maple trees. The sap can be collected and boiled down to make a delicious organic sweetener – maple syrup,” Davan explained. “The process is so simple and fun that, each year, people all over the northeast take to their back yards and make their own pure maple syrup.”
