Marion E. (Davis) Burke, 92, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Connecticut after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Newton, daughter of the late Albert W. and Florence (Tully) Davis, she moved to Hopkinton in 1942 where she was married and raised her children. As a devoted wife and mother, "Meme" created a welcoming and loving home.

"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She expends her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

She leaves behind a son, James and his wife Julie of Hopkinton, a son, Gary and a daughter, Eileen, both of Connecticut. She also leaves a grandson, Jon of Hopkinton. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Walter F. Burke, and siblings, Edith (Davis) Minkle, Virginia (Davis) Holden, and James Davis.

Marion and Walter traveled extensively to the wilds of Alaska and everywhere in between, enjoying winters in Florida. From white water rafting in Idaho, halibut fishing in Prince William Sound, or panning for gold in Colorado, Marion's zest for life was unmistakable.

She was loved by all who knew her and was always fun-loving. Her indomitable strength of spirit, compassion, and selflessness will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, August 8th at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville.
