Mary Beth (Marquedant) Korbey passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 25, 1965 to Joseph D. and Charlotte (Hazen) Marquedant, she recently celebrated her 50th birthday.
She was a member of the Hopkinton High School Class of 1983, where she was a standout athlete and one of the first inductees into the Hopkinton High Athletic Hall of Fame. She attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she received a full scholarship as a walk-on point guard for the UMass Women's basketball team and graduated with a degree in sports management.

Mary has been a successful real estate broker in the Metrowest area since 1992, most recently working out of the Re/Max Executive Realty office in Hopkinton. She was a longstanding member of the Hopkinton Education Foundation where she was able to fundraise for innovative educational programs. She also gave countless hours to the Hopkinton Basketball Association where, in addition to occupying various board positions, she coached all three of her children in their recreation and travel leagues for many years. She will be remembered by her children, as well as the many dozens of other kids she coached, as an energetic, positive role model on and off the court, teaching kids as much about how to be good people as well as to be good teammates and players.

Survivors include her husband Michael with whom she would have celebrated her 24th wedding anniversary this October, her three beautiful children, Mikala, Cooper and Calli, her father Joseph D. Marquedant, her 4 brothers, David Marquedant (Kathleen), Joseph P. Marquedant (Heidi), Robert Marquedant (Lynn), Stephen Marquedant (Jeanne), her sister Carol Ouellette (Dean), the Korbey family, Kate, Mitchell Jr. (Diane), Mitchell III, Kelsey (Joseph Commare) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her mother Charlotte who died in 2012.
