Dear Center School Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you how delighted I am to have been appointed as Principal of Center School. I possess 19 years of educational experience ranging from teaching to leading, all focusing on the early childhood level. My most recent experience has been that of Simonian Center Principal since 2007. I am excited to bring my skills as an educational leader to the Center School and partner with the community in education to ensure success for each child.

The early years are crucial to establishing a solid educational foundation. I anticipate a successful year as we, the Center School staff and I, support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child.

My personal educational philosophy is as follows:

I believe that early childhood education builds the foundation for future learning. As an early childhood educational leader, it is my responsibility to provide the structure and support for developmentally appropriate experiences for all children in a safe, supportive setting.
I believe children succeed when engaged in meaningful activities led by qualified educators. Success is measured by personal growth in all areas ranging from the ability to independently unpack a backpack in the morning, successfully count a handful of items using one-to-one correspondence, accurately decode a word, to appropriately ask to join a group at recess.

I believe that the early childhood experience must comprehensively address the needs of the whole child. To accomplish this vital mission, it is imperative that staff, families, and the community support the educational process via ongoing communication and collaboration.
As an early childhood educational leader, my role is to ensure each child has the opportunity to build a sound foundation. I view this role of enduring impact as an honor fueled by the growth I observe on a daily basis.

As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. I am a strong proponent of community relations and look forward to collaborative efforts to strengthen community ties. To facilitate this collaboration, I welcome you to a Principal’s Coffee Thursday, July 11 or Wednesday, August 14 at 10:00 am in the Center School Cafeteria.

I look forward to the year ahead.

Sincerely,

Lauren Dubeau
Principal
