Metrowest Daily News Girls Volleyball "Super Team" is loaded with Hillers

The Metrowest Daily News have posted their "Super Team"! The Metrowest Daily News article lists the best of the best in Girls Volleyball from around the area. The Division 2 State Champion Hopkinton Hillers are well represented on the Metrowest Daily News Super Team. The Hillers named to the super team consist of: Holly Adams, Renee Cooprider and Hanna Engstrom. Kaitlin West was also featured in the article as she was named to the Metrowest Daily News First Team, Whitney Thalheimer was named to the Metrowest Daily News Second team. Hopkinton Hillers Head Coach Margie Grabmeier was named the Metrowest Daily News Girls Volleyball Coach of the year.

Holly Adams made the Metrowest Daily News "Super Team" for the 2nd year in a row as she helped lead the Hillers championship run. Adams racked up a whopping 346 kills on the attack and had a .396 Hit Percentage. Adams also had 34 aces from the service line and had a 98.0 serving percentage. Adams also contributed heavily defensively racking up 11 blocks and 137 digs.

Renee Cooprider racked up 33 aces from the service line and scored 138 points. Cooprider was an assist machine with 618, which made up nearly 85% of the teams overall assists.

Hanna Engstrom recorded 150 Kills and had a .359 hitting percentage. Engstrom led the Hillers with 49 aces and had a 21.6 Ace Percentage while recording 142 points.

Whitney Thalheimer contributed heavily as well with 106 Kills on the attack, and had 170 points from the service line along with a 91.3 serve percentage. Thalheimer also contributed 76 digs.

Metrowest Daily News first team member, Kaitlin West recorded an 88.2 serve percentage and led the team in digs with 186.

Coach Margie Grabmeier received well deserved praise from the Metrowest Daily News being named their "Coach of the Year" as she guided the Hillers to a 22 and 2 record and their first Division 2 State Championship in team History. After a loss to Frontier Regional on September 22nd, the Hillers never lost again winning the next 17 matches and sweeping their way through the state tournament.
