The Hopkinton Public Schools Music Department will once again be hosting and taking part in the 2019 Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Festivals the weekend of April 5th, 6th and 7th. Performing groups from Hopkinton High School and the Eighth Grade groups, plus the Honors Chorus from the Hopkinton Middle School will be participating.

The purpose of the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association is to encourage and support the development of elementary, middle, and high school performing ensembles. The Concert and Choral Festivals provide an opportunity for evaluation by highly qualified adjudicators.

There are approximately 180 ensembles and over 8,600 student musicians participating in the Concert Festival and over 4,000 student musicians participating in the Choral Festival -- totaling over 12,600 student musicians during the MICCA Concert and Choral Festival weekend. The Concert Festival is running concurrently at six locations across the state this weekend: Belchertown High School, Bellingham High School, Foxboro High School, Hopkinton High School, Belmont High School, and King Philip Regional High School. The MICCA Choral Festival is running concurrently at two locations: Westborough High School and Norwood High School.

The Hopkinton Music Department and the Hopkinton Music Association volunteer their time to make sure that the Hopkinton festival site runs smoothly over the weekend. We encourage you to volunteer some time and hear some fantastic student musicians in action. Please contact Karen Sylvester at [email protected] to volunteer.
