MIddle School Soccer Chalks Up 2 More Wins.

The Hopkinton Middle School boys’ soccer team improved its record to 4-0-1 with a 4-0 victory versus Dedham Middle School Tuesday. The entire team played very well. Kenny Rhodes and Chris Mastroianni combined in goal for the shutout. Matt Austin and Brian Gaughan played outstanding. Hopkinton’s goal scorers were Ben Fargiano, Scott Babigian, Nick Mirabile, and Ryan Mastroianni. The boys travel to Dedham on Thursday.

The Hopkinton Middle School girls’ soccer team beat Ursaline Academy 7-0 bringing their record to 4-0-1. Camryn D’Aloia scored two goals, one by herself and a second assisted by Emily Mastroianni. Sarah Durr also had a goal that was assisted by Camryn D’Aloia. The 4th goal of the game came from a beautiful pass from Olivia Spar up the field to Jenny Nixon who crossed it in to Taylor Velazquez who put it in the net. Next Jenny Nixon scored with a pass from Sarah Durr to Emily Mastroianni who crossed it in. After a wave of passing from much of the team, Mercedes Lahaie put one in the net from defense. The scoring in the game was rounded out by a pass from Sarah Durr to Kathryn Walsh who finished it. Besides all the scoring, Maddie Abbott played an incredible game from the stopper position, helping to control the middle and push the ball forward. Congrats to the whole team! The girls’ next game is Thursday in Dedham.
