From Hopkinton Youth Services:
Mental Illness Awareness Week occurs during the week of October 6-12, 2013. In an effort to recognize and de-stigmatize mental illness, Hopkinton residents can take part in National Depression Screening Day.

In person Screening: October 10, 2013
Hopkinton Public Library
10 am - 12 pm
or

Anonymous Online Screening: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at http://www.mentalhealthscreening.org/screening/HOPKINTON

National Depression Screening Dayraises awareness of mental illness and offers community wide education and awareness for depression and mood disorders. All Hopkinton adult residents are invited to be screened (in person) for depression and related mood disorders including anxiety, bipolar disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder.

Parents can also complete a brief screen for adolescents for depression or depression related symptoms. Local mental health providers will be at the screening and referral information for residents will be available.

“If you are concerned about yourself or a loved one, take the first step with an anonymous mental health self assessment. A screening interview is not a substitute for a complete mental health evaluation. The screenings are not diagnostic and only indicate if a person has symptoms consistent with a mental illness. “
