Superintendent Dr. Cathy MacLeod announced in a letter to parents that David Ljungberg has accepted a position in the central office and will no longer be the principal of Elmwood School. 2 year assistant principal Anne Carver will serve as the interim principal while Joanna Bowolick will take over as interim assistant principal. The letter of the announcement is below.

"Dear Parents/Guardians:

I am writing to share information with you about recent decisions regarding the Elmwood School leadership team. Mr. Ljungberg has accepted a position as Curriculum Coordinator in the Central Office where his talents and experience will be utilized to support the many facets of implementing the School Committee's Strategic Plan. We are thankful for his contributions to the Elmwood community and know that he will be missed in his role as Principal.

I understand that you may be concerned about implementing a change at the beginning of the year, and assure you that your child will continue to be provided with the highest educational standards within a safe and supportive environment. With this in mind, Mrs. Anne Carver has been appointed as Interim Principal for the remainder of the year. In her two years as Assistant Principal, she has established relationships with staff, students and families and will provide continuity and familiarity for the Elmwood Community. We will conduct a full search this spring for a permanent, full-time Principal with a targeted start date of July 1, 2016.

In addition, I have appointed Mrs. Joanna Bowolick to assume Mrs. Carver's former position for the remainder of the year. Joanna has many years of experiences that will complement Mrs. Carver's skills and provide additional stability and support for Elmwood.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,
Cathy MacLeod, Ed,D.
Superintendent of Schools"
