Paul Taylor Doherty, 87, of Hopkinton, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Doris (Taylor) and Gerald Doherty. He was the husband of the late Angel (Vartanian) Doherty who passed in 2005.

A WWII Navy Veteran, Paul was a teacher in Southborough for 28 years and was the founder of Angel's Garden Center in Hopkinton. He was a graduate of Umass Amherst and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison where he received his Master's Degree. He served on Hopkinton's Conservation Committee and was a choir member at St. John the Evangelist Church.

He is survived by his children, Steven G. Doherty of South Boston, Jeffrey Doherty and his wife Dayle of Hopkinton; brothers, Dr. Eugene A. Doherty and his wife Joan of Norwood, Bernard Doherty and his wife Ann of Harwich; 3 grandchildren, Dorothy and Leigh Manley and Alexandra Doherty and a sister in law, Eileen Doherty of Nebraska and a son in law David Manley of Sterling. He is predeceased by a daughter, Doris Manley; his siblings, John Doherty and Gerald Doherty.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th from 4-8 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will take place on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Church in Upton.
