Police Officer Hit During Traffic Detail

According to a press release from Lt. Charles Wallace of the Hopkinton Police Department, on Thursday August 18th, at approximately 07:18 AM, a Hopkinton police officer was struck by a construction vehicle owned by Ludlow Construction of Ludlow, Mass., while directing traffic at a construction site on Elm Street.

The officer suffered serious injuries believed to be non-life threatening and was transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Mass, by Hopkinton Fire Department Paramedics.

The accident is being investigated by Hopkinton Police, Massachusetts State Police Collision and Analysis Reconstruction Section and the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section and is on-going at this time.
